Hutchy joined the Sharks last season after several years in the Elite league and EPL and his leadership became invaluable on the way to the treble.
The thirty-three year old helped the Sharks with three goals and ten assists including the Overtime assist in the playoffs against Solihull and his experience of playing in big games and winning mentality was something that helped the team last year. Hutchy has won titles in the Elite league as well as EPL and was a player the Sharks targeted as a priority to come back as the new teams join the league.
James himself commented “I’m over the moon to be going back to Solway, they’re a great bunch of lads and the club is such a positive place to be. I look forward to the challenge of playing the new teams and can’t wait to get started”.
Head coach Martin Grubb was happy to be able to bring James back and said “Hutchy is a natural leader and slotted into our group like he had always played here last season. He leads by example on and off the ice and it is a massive signing for us as we prepare to face a new challenge in the league. He is a guy who can be relied upon in all situations and I felt he took our D core to another level last year. His leadership will be vital along with his playing ability and I am looking forward to working with him again”.
James will again wear the #55 jersey as he takes his place on the blue line and stay tuned to see who he will be joined by as the week progresses.
