Sharks complete goaltending team:

The Building Craftsmen Dumfries Solway Sharks are pleased to complete their goaltending team for the 2018/19 season with the signing of Kyle Johnston.

The 20 year old Dumfries born goalie will step up from the Solway Sharks junior development program and move into his first full time senior season.

Kyle has already played and impressed in the NIHL for the senior team and has international honours with the Scotland team and will form part of the Sharks goaltending team for the season ahead.

Kyle made 12 appearances last season after returning from injury and he will be looking to continue developing his game and competing for the starting role along with Calum and Jordan.

Head Coach Martin Grubb commented “Kyle is a good goalie who has been unfortunate with injury over the past year but he came back in last year after recovering and did a good job.

“He is capable of having some big games and we now need to find a way to help him become more consistent in his play.

“He has good potential and will be expected to form part of a strong goaltending unit that all fight for the net and help us win games.”

Kyle said “I am really looking forward to the challenge this year now that I am out the junior squad and can put all my concentration into playing for the seniors.

“I’m impressed with the signings so far and hope I can help towards winning the league and play my part in it and I will be working hard to keep developing.”

Kyle Johnston’s #2 jersey is available on the owned and loaned scheme, priced at just £100 per shirt. If you are interested in this or any sponsorship options then contact
