Stuart Kerr returns to the Sharks defence

The BCD Solway Sharks are delighted to confirm the return of talented young defenceman Stuart Kerr.

Stuart is back for his third season and he has already played a big part over the past few seasons despite being only 19. His skating ability and composure on the puck has seen him represent GB at U18 level and he was recently in attendance at the GB 20’s camp and Stuart will hope to continue his impressive form into this season.

Kerr is a product of SSJIHC and has played at all age levels as well as playing for Scotland and making 2 appearances in the Elite league with Braehead Clan.

On his latest recruit Martin Grubb said “Kerzi is a young player with lots of potential and although he’s only 19 it feels like he’s been a major part of our lineup forever. He skates really well, sees the ice and can make a good first pass and he has been improving constantly on the defensive side of the game. He has played key minutes for us and I am looking forward to him continuing to develop and play a big part again this year. The new challenge will be good for him with new teams and players to play against and he will enjoy that”.

Kerr commented ” “When I was asked to re-sign I didn’t have to think twice about it. Last season we had a great team on and off the ice. I feel my game has developed because of the experience of both coaches and players over the season. This year I look forward to improving my game even more in a more competitive league and continuing to contribute to the success this team has had”.

Stuart Kerr will lineup on the Sharks blue line in his familiar #6 and supporters should stay tuned to see who else will join him on the defensive unit.
