The Solway Sharks are pleased to announce the return of last seasons top points scorer Iain Bowie for the 2018/19 season.
The 28 year old, Kirkcaldy born forward returns for his fifth season in a sharks uniform after leading the team in goals and points last season with 39 goals and 36 assists for 75 points in all competitions.…
Bowie has good experience in the EIHL and EPL as well as a prolific career in the world championships with the GB u18 and u20 teams including winning a gold medal with the 20’s.
Head Coach Martin Grubb stated “ I am happy that we are able to bring Bowser back for another season and try and build on the one he had last year.
“He was our top scorer and won a player of the month and started the season really well and the challenge this year is to maintain that form for the whole season.
“He is someone who is always a threat around the net, has great hands and can score goals as well as create them and I have challenged him to put up more numbers this year as we look to create more offence.
“He is someone who likes a challenge and I know he will still be looking to be our top scorer and I look forward to seeing him back for the season ahead.”
Bowie himself commented “ I’m ecstatic about the forthcoming season and returning to the Sharks.
“Last season was tremendous for me personally and I am looking forward to building on that and working with both familiar and new players.
“There is a great team spirit within the Solway Sharks dressing room and believe we will achieve even greater things in 2018/19 season.
“ I love ice hockey, the feeling on the ice, the team and of course more than anything the fans.
“The Sharks fans and supporters club are phenomenal. I can’t wait to hear what kinda noise and atmosphere the fans will bring to the rink this season.”
Iain Bowie’s #8 shirt is available on the owned and loaned scheme, priced at just £100 per shirt. If you are interested in this or any sponsorship options then contact rab.murray@solwaysharksihc
